documenting 2D work with MICA faculty Dan Meyers
documenting 3D work with MICA faculty Dan Meyers
things to keep in mind
- use a tripod so your pictures don’t turn out blurry
- when photographing flat work, position the camera at the height of the center of the work to prevent warping of edges
- flat work should be photographed with two lights the height of the center of your work and angled 45 degrees away from it on each side
- never use the overhead lights or photograph your work outside (unless you are including a picture of the work in its environment)
- 3D work should have a single light or lights positioned at differing angles and heights keep backdrops clean and simple
- don’t use flash on your work
