things to keep in mind
- Web images should be in RGB color mode.
- 72 ppi (pixels per inch) is standard for the web, only go higher if you are seeing specific problems with a picture's resolution once added to your site. Keeping photos at this resolution also decreases file size so you can store more files on your web server.
- Images should be the pixel width you want it to appear on your site. If you are using a platform with an image uploader, check out the site's specifics for maximum image size. If your image is 1200 pixels wide, but the maximum of the image container is 600 pixels, your image will appear at 600 pixels on the site, but the file will take up more storage space.
