- LinkedIn: LinkedIn is like a professional version of Facebook. You can make a resume-like profile, connect with peers, colleagues, and teachers, and even find out what alumni are up to by searching MICA in the schools search bar. Pro tip: When you are writing a cover letter, search the company you are applying to and see if you can find the person you will be sending your application to. If you can find their email, it’s much better to use that than a basic hello@ email.
- Facebook: You can create a page for your business through Facebook, or even an art page to keep people updated!
- Twitter: Twitter can be used to post pictures of your work or update people on what you’re working on. It can also give people a better idea of what your personality is like if you want to connect your personal (but still professional and appropriate) account to your website.
- Instagram: Some people like to keep artist accounts on Instagram to post photos of their work, progress, and inspirations. Like Twitter, as long as you keep it appropriate you can link a personal to your website too.
- Pinterest: Pinterest allows you to pin inspirations from other sites to different categories/boards created by you. It’s a great way to keep track of interesting websites, information, or art you want to come back to later.
- Behance: If you post your portfolio pieces on Behance you can also follow other artists and stay updated with what they’re doing. Behance also has job listings if you are on a hunt.
- Dribble : Dribble is similar to Behance, but made specifically for illustrators and designers.
